Islander Architects are an award winning design & research practice specialising in adaptive reuse, civic infrastructure, and systemic climate advocacy.

The climate crisis demands a fundamental rewriting of architectural practice.

Here at Islander we champion radical reuse and adaptations that respond to the unique context of each project.

Architecture is a Civic & Ecological Act.

We reject the industry’s demolition bias. We look closely at what is already there. Our practice operates at the intersection of architectural design and structural advocacy, treating every project, from village masterplans to heritage retrofits, as an opportunity to build resource-focused, long-term sustainability.

We are currently leading a national research project funded by Creative Ireland’s Creative Climate Action Fund III - Demolition Takedown: Assemblages with TU Dublin & Fingal County Council.

Our work is not just about altering buildings; it is about changing policy, carbon literacy, and the long-term resilience of our built environment.
