Islander appointed on the National Neighbourhood panel for Dublin City Council’s Culture Company
Islander are delighted to be working with Dublin City Council’s The National Neighbourhood over the next two years, it is a year-round programme that creates ways for people to see and make culture in their place. The Culture Company’s programme will allow us the time to engage directly with new communities and co-develop innovative responses for their neighbourhoods.
Community Centre & Park Granted Planning Permission
Great news from Dunnamaggin this week, our proposal for a community operated park, market space and the adaptive reuse of an existing barn for a new community arts centre has been granted planning permission. The community has also been awarded substantial funding from the Town and Village Renewal Scheme to build the project.

We have been granted planning permission in Skerries for the major refurbishment and extension to an existing house and the construction of a new multifunctional garden room to house the client’s hobbies.

Islander are delighted to be taking part again in the RIAI Simon Open Door Campaign 2024. Booking now open!
In return for a donation of €120, homeowners receive an hour-long consultation with us to discuss building, renovating or retrofitting. All participating Architects are giving their time and expertise for free. Every cent raised goes directly to the Simon Communities.

This survey is part of our industry engagement phase of the project. The aim of the survey is to gather multi-disciplinary viewpoints from a range of stakeholders in the construction industry around the topic of demolition in an Irish context.
The focus of our research is on the decision making prior to demolition on site. We seek to uncover the underlying motivations and current challenges behind demolition practices in Ireland.
