Consultation & Creating Your Brief
We understand that most clients will have no previous experience with the construction sector, which can seem daunting. Here at Islander, we listen closely to you from the beginning so we can guide you through the process for your project from concept to completion.
Simply talking to someone about your ideas can be a huge help to kickstart the journey.
When we are designing we carry out structured consultations that provide you with all the information you need to make the right decisions. During this stage we discuss:
Project Briefing
Planning Advice
The Design Team - Other Consultants You Will Require
The RIAI Work Stages
Timeline & Process
Legislation & Building Control
Sustainability & Energy Efficiency Goals
Accessibility Needs
Budget
Architect’s Fee
Appointment of Architect - RIAI Client/ Architect Agreement
The first thing we will do as your architect is ask questions, listen & understand your aspirations for the project.
Our job is to interpret these requirements for you. Together we will form the design brief for your project.
The briefing stage is invaluable, we gather information at this stage that will form the basis for your design project. Having agreed & written your brief, we can move on to the design stage where your objectives & requirements are translated into clear drawings.
