Shaping Galway

Some colourful moments captured from our workshop Shaping Galway for The Architecture at the Edge Festival 2022.

Shaping Galway encouraged participants to communicate their priorities for their City with visual architectural diagrams. Participants were offered different shapes at various sizes in seven different colours that represented land use objectives.

Similar to County Development Plans, we asked participants to try and visually communicate what parts of Galway City do they think should be cherished, what are the existing features of the city that need to be protected or what aspects of the city do they feel could be further developed?

The larger the colour, the more important that use was to each participant, and the arrangement of shapes was to communicate their message visually.
It was wonderful to hear each participant justify their selection of colourful shapes with the anecdotal stories weaving in between the composition.
