Planning Granted!

We have been granted planning permission by Louth County Council for the refurbishment and extension of an old farmhouse overlooking a rolling landscape and Dundalk Bay.

This project will give this traditional two storey narrow house a new lease of life for a family of 4. The proposed extension will house the relocated ground floor bathroom along with the kitchen and dining room fit for family use with views to Dundalk Bay.Through utilising the existing slope in the site, the proposed finished floor level of the single storey extension will be below finished floor level of the main house. This will allow the proposed extension to appear subservient to the existing house.

This simple material palette will be durable, tactile & an appropriate scale for this type of domestic dwelling. All together, the material palette proposed will compliment the surrounding context and simultaneously distinguish the existing house from its more contemporary extension.
